The Foundation
has established this award to provide educational
assistance for young people with arthritis.
The Award is for a young person whose study
has been interrupted by arthritis and it
aims to ensure that the student has the opportunity
to continue with their chosen course of study
and is given every chance to display his
or her full potential.
Application forms
are available by phoning the Foundation
on (02) 9683 1622 or 1800 011 041 toll
free.
Applications close on October 1st.
The
Awards are in memory of Alison Watson,
an outstanding
board member of the Foundation, who,
despite much disability, fulfilled a
life of achievement.
A recent recipient of the Award is Michele
Marriott, who has rheumatoid arthritis.
The Alision Watson Memorial Award helped
Michele retrain as a schoolteacher. She
says, "I doubt if I could have successfully
completed the attendance component of my
course without Arthritis NSW's help and
the generosity of those who support it."
