As
Arthritis NSW is a approved charity with the
Australian Taxation Office. Gifts of $2 or more
are tax deductible. We are
happy
to receive gifts of any size, small or large.
Your gift will help us, for example, to run our
free helpline or perhaps be used towards printing
information sheets on many aspects of arthritis.
Most of us are touched in some way by arthritis.
Perhaps you have arthritis... it's very likely
that if you don't, you know somebody who does.
By reading through this site you'll grasp the
many and varied ways we help people with arthritis
live well; it's with the generosity of people
such as yourself that we are able to continue
our support and research.
As you read through this website, and in particular
this section, you'll be aware of the many things
we do to help people with arthritis of all ages.
This is only possible with your assistance and
generosity. Individual donations provide approximately
35% of our funding. Your donation helps ensure
the continuation and expansion of research and
our self-management programs.
Osteoporosis NSW is an activity of Arthritis
NSW. If you would like to make a donation to
Osteoporosis
NSW please contact us - all the ways of supporting
us listed below are also applicable to Osteoporosis
NSW and your gift can be specifically used by
Osteoporosis NSW on your instruction.
Ways of supporting us
For information on how we use funds given to
us, you can read
our Annual Report.
Gifts
Some
people and companies like to specify where their
monetary gift will be used. Some of the specific
purposes we need funding for include:
- Camp
Footloose, for children with arthritis
- Education -
for the production of information sheets, holding
educational events for health professionals,
producing new resources and programs
- Alison
Watson Award, awarded to young individuals
with arthritis for the purpose of furthering
their education
- Bruce
Williams Scholarship for health professionals
If you would like to donate a gift for a specific
purpose, and wish to find out more about how your
gift will be used, do contact us on 1800 011 041.
Of course, gifts of any size are welcome. If you
do not have a specific purpose in mind, we will
use your gift in one of the ways outlined in the
bullet points above.
Become a member of a branch, and give. Members
of our branches contribute each year to the Branches
Research
Scholarship
and make
a
significant
gift to our children's camp, Camp Footloose.
Do remember that all gifts of $2 or more are tax-deductible.
Adopt a Charity
Donations
to Arthritis NSW, a registered charity, are tax
deductible, making us an ideal partner for companies
and corporations who wish to broaden their 'good
corporate citizen' image. Most of your employees
will probably know someone with arthritis; some
of them may even be affected with arthritis themselves.
Knowing their employer is donating to support research
of this painful disease will make them feel the
corporate charity dollar is going to an extremely
worthwhile cause.
There are many ways in which you can support us:
- Your company can make an outright
donation to Arthritis NSW, either as a 'one
off' or on a regular or annual basis
- Your company can choose to
have Arthritis NSW as a 'charity challenge',
with employees raising money for Arthritis NSW
and the company matching them dollar for dollar
- Your employees can donate
directly to Arthritis NSW via a regular payroll
deduction
- Your company can provide a
donation to cover the production of one of Arthritis
NSW's events or publications
- Your company can donate funds
to cover a research grant
Partners in Support - Our Donor Club
This
is a special group of supporters who contribute
annually to the Foundation. This group was formed
in 1988 with the name Naomi Wing Society in memory
of pioneer rheumatologist Dr Naomi Wing as a tribute
to her major contribution to the care and rehabilitation
of those affected by arthritis (Contact our Executive
Director regarding membership).
Dr Graydon Howe – Ex Chairperson of the
Board, Rheumatologist and Partner in Support says, “Arthritis
NSW started partners in support to provide a regular
stream of income for the foundation to achieve
consistency of funding in order to provide the
education and services to people with Arthritis.
An annual donation of $160, which is tax-deductible
for you, ensures that you are personally assisting
Arthritis NSW to do its important work."
All gifts and donations over $2 to Arthritis NSW
are tax-deductible.
Gifts for Research
Individuals
and companies can make a lasting impression on
the medical research world by having a research
grant in their name for a minimum of $5000. Your
grant will be ackowledged in documentation such
as our annual report and where appropriate at the
facility where it is being undertaken.
Your grant may start a young researcher on a brilliant
career, and perhaps help develop new medicines
that will better help people with arthritis manage
the disease and live well with arthritis. What
a good feeling...to know that you've made a lasting
impression on the world and helped others!
Contact us for more information on having your
own research grant. Call 1800 011 041.
Fundraising
If your community group, club, school or company
is seeking an organisation to raise funds for,
Arthritis NSW is a worthy partner for your group.
Organisations that help us regularly include:
- Service clubs who help with
specific projects - we particularly acknowledge
the Lions Club of Fairfield and Pymble Ladies'
Golf Club for their fundraising contribution
to the development of our Challenging Arthritis
program
- All British Car Club, which
donates proceeds from its annual display day
- Golf Clubs who run charity
golf days with the proceeds going to Arthritis
NSW.
- Kids Flix - Saturday morning
movies for children with disabilities. Each
child costs $25 to sponsor.
If you have any questions or would like more information,
please call us on 1800 011 041.
