Osteoporosis NSW is committed
to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of
osteoporosis. Our aim is to
increase awareness and understanding amongst
the general public, GPs and other health professionals.
Services provided by Osteoporosis NSW include
the provision of a toll free advice line which
gives assistance and up to date information to
callers. A variety of brochures and booklets
are also available free of charge. These have
been prepared for the specific requirements of
consumers, GPs, pharmacists and other health
professionals. New consumer information sheets
are also available in 5 languages.
A quarterly newsletter is distributed to our
members to keep them abreast of local news and
events. They also receive a national magazine,
Osteoblast, 3 times per year which provides information
of a more medical nature. Click here to join
us!
Community education seminars are held on a regular
basis throughout Sydney and in large rural centres.
These events are always popular and well attended.
You'll find information on these in the Events
Calendar.
A Health Professional program takes the form
of breakfasts where expert speakers talk on their
area of specialty. Health Professionals should
check the Health
Professionals section for information. Health Professionals,
contact us now on 1800 242 141 for a free book
on Osteoporosis for GPs.
