Westmead and Liverpool Rheumatology Units
Arthritis NSW has a working partnership with these
two units and supports them with funding for research
being conducted into Rheumatology. Associate Professor
Nick Manolios is currently conducting research
into basic cell
anatomy in order to explore the possibilities of
how a new medicine can be formulated to change
the way individual cells react in arthritis.
Research Projects
Arthritis NSW with support from the Independent Order of Oddfellows, is pleased to support a 2 year rheumatoid arthritis research study being undertaken by Dr Tanya Covic from the University of Western Sydney. The study entitled Motherhood Choices, a decision aid for women with rheumatoid arthritis is looking at issues faced by women with rheumatoid arthritis who are contemplating pregnancy and childbirth.
