Arthritis is an umbrella term for more than 100 medical conditions that affect the musculoskeletal system, specifically joints where two or more bones meet. While arthritis is very common – affecting 1 in 6 Australians, more than 3.9 million adults and children in Australia – it is not well understood.

Exercising in warm water is one of the most comfortable and effective ways that a person with arthritis can exercise. The water supports the body, taking the weight off inflamed and painful joints. The warmth of the water helps tight joints to loosen up and relax, easing soreness and soothing any pain.

An Aqua Instructor is needed urgently to run a class for people with Arthritis (various forms) in an indoor pool in hospital grounds. The current instructor will be available to mentor and guide with the individuals and class specific requirements.

One of your biggest strengths will be the ability to provide a safe offering for individual needs. Your enthusiasm and energy will encourage and motivate participants to stay on track for their fitness goals and provide a secure atmosphere for our members to feel comfortable.

We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds to create a work environment where employee differences such as gender, age, culture, disability, sexual orientation, and education are valued to reflect the diversity of the communities in which we operate. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are encouraged to apply.
